• Hi

I am trying to get to the bottom of a query and am going around in circles. Please note I am not technically strong so please be kind 😉

I am failing on my Mobile Core Vitals report for mostly my POSTS with the reason being LCP is loading more than 4 secs.

I had hoped to resolve this via WP Rocket and went through a series of suggestions and plugins you see below from their support only to be told that my featured image is bypassing WP Rocket and being lazy loaded somewhere else. They basically say its not a problem originating from their plugin.

I have tried disabling numerous other plugins but cannot find where the instruction to lazyload my featured image is controlled.

There are various forums on this general issue but they dont seem to be clear (to me anyhow) as to how to fix.

The plugins I use on my website (in case that may give someone an idea of where the issue is comming from) are:

    Add class to Elementor Image
    Ads.txt Manager
    Akismet Anti-Spam
    Astra Pro
    Elementor
    Elementor Pro
    Health Check & Troubleshooting
    Imagify
    Premium Addons for Elementor
    Really Simple SSL
    Sidebar Manager
    Simple News
    Simple Yearly Archive
    Site Kit by Google
    Smart Slider 3
    Starter Templates
    Sticky Header Effects for Elementor
    UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore
    WP Rocket
WP Rocket | Exclude X first images from Lazy Load by Attribute
    WPB Elementor Addons
    WPBeginner’s Compact Archives
    WPForms Lite
    Yoast Duplicate Post
    Yoast SEO
    Yoast SEO Premium
    Yoast Test Helper

    Any help appreciated.

    Best regards

    Rupert

  • It could be your browser version lazy loading takes place in the browser, not the server. You can check if your browser supports it at the website caniuse.com

You can also compression on your images to speed things up I used squoosh on your header image and it decreased the size by 40%.

Thank you Mr Tom for your replies. Could I kindly ask regarding your reference to caniuse.com – What actions do I need to take on this website as it looks very technical (and I am not) ? I will also try the image compression thank you however I am already using Imagify to compress images so i am not sure if that will be any different ?

You can find the support for browsers at caniuse at https://caniuse.com/?search=loading
