Hi @ivohuber,
I haven’t tested Chaplin with PHP 8.0, so it’s possible. It could also be a plugin (especially since you got the error on the dashboard), so you could try disabling your plugins and try activating PHP 8.0 to see if that fixes the issue.

Thanks Anders! I disabled all plugins but I doesn´t help. Would it be possible to check Chaplin on PHP 8.0 from your side?
Hi @ivohuber,
I’ll try to test it with PHP 8.0 soon. I’d recommend you to stick with an earlier PHP version for now.

Hi again @ivohuber,
I decided to give it a try immediately after all, and I don’t get any errors running Chaplin on PHP 8.0.8 and WordPress 5.9.1. Are you running the latest version of WordPress on your site?
— Anders
Thanks Anders for your efforts that´s great. I am running the latest version of WordPress 5.9.1. I have tested PHP 8.0 with and without boost. The page is running but I allways get an error opening the dashboard.
Ivo@ivohuber Is there an error message on the dashboard, or do you just get a white screen?
Hi Anders, thanks a lot, it is allways the same error Message on a white screen. The dashboard is not accessible.
@ivohuber Can you post the error message?
Definitely. I will switch to PHP 8.0 tonight again and make a screenshot.
How do I send a screenshot?
I don’t know if it helps or not, but Chaplin works for me in php 8.1. But note I’m a couple of Chaplin versions behind. WP is most recent (auto update).
@ivohuber You can just copy the text in the error message and post it here.
Ok. here it is: Es gab einen kritischen Fehler auf deiner Website. Bitte über den Posteingang deiner Website-Administrator-E-Mail-Adresse für weitere Anwendungen.
In English it would be:There was a critical error on your website. Please use the inbox of your website administrator email address for further applications.
But there was never any email coming in.
@ivohuber Yeah, I’m not sure what might be causing that. But since Chaplin is working on 8.X for @intellivision and in my local testing, I don’t think it’s Chaplin specific. You can try switching to a different theme, like Twenty Twenty-One, and then activating 8.0 again to verify.
I’d recommend you to get in touch with your host to see if their support can help you troubleshoot.
@anlino Thanks I have contacted my provider. I will let you know.
