  • The error might be caused by some changes in the latest version of the PayPal plugin. As we indicated in a reply to another user, rolling back to a previous version could fix the issue, while the glitch is being addressed.

Note: our reply was related to a scenario using the PayPal Payments plugin with our Aelia Currency Switcher, but the rollback can fix the issue with other multi-currency plugins as well.

    Hi @gusdegaiada,

The latest version 1.6.5, unfortunately, introduced a bug that may impact currency detection and causes a fallback to the default store currency.
Since PayPal does not support your base currency, this error could be thrown when a user attempts to check out.

To fix the problem, you could either downgrade to version 1.6.4 as Diego mentioned or alternatively try this modified 1.6.5 version: https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=19z0iF_HkFBfH5XYRTwxUuhRDFh2kU7vv
Anyway, our next plugin update will restore multi-currency functionality.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

@daigo75 and @niklasinpsyde Thank you for your answer, the problem solved by turned it back to the older plugin WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway.
The warning says “support for this product will end as of 1 March 2022”, I’m not sure if that means it will stop working or they will just stop help support by that date.

We will try again later with WooCommerce PayPal Payments version 1.6.4 or the modified 1.6.5.
Is this version compatible with PHP8? as we are planning to upgrade the PHP to PHP8.

    Best regards,
    Gusde
