    Hello,

all the articles in my site, webfoodculture.com, are in two languages, italian and english.

If I use the same keyword / keyphrase in both language versions, I get a warning from Yoast SEO plugin.

Fact is that some names have not a translation: it’s often a problem to find the right alternative.

Can I ignore the warning message^ If I do, could this deeply affect my seo?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi @anthyx

We aren’t familiar with what solution you’re using to handle the different languages of your website. Are you using WPML or a different plugin?

If possible, we recommend using the focus keyphrase that is appropriate for each language (English and Italian) if possible, because it will help you optimize your SEO and Readability some more. However, please note that the focus keyphrase itself won’t directly affect your SEO. It just helps for the content analysis so you can improve further on your content, which can then help with improving on the SEO. So you’ll still need to actually work on the content and optimize it further if you want to see some more improvements.

    Hello Michael,

    I’m using Polylang.

As I told you, the keywords / phrases is almost always use are names (such as, for example, “pizza”), and there are not always translations for it. Yes I could add other words, but again it’s not always possible.

Anyway, from your words, it seems to me that even if I get a warning from Yoast plugin, it’s not so important, since the keyword / phrase is used in the same article, but with different language. Right?

    Again, many thanks.

    A.

Indeed, we suggest ignoring the analysis for those keyphrases which you think are must-use however untranslatable.

We understand that sometimes it’s tempting to attempt to get all green lights on the SEO analysis. However, these are general guidelines, not strict rules that will hurt your ranking. If you feel your page is properly formatted and has a good user experience, then these warnings can be safely ignored and you should not sacrifice user experience to get the green bullet.

You can read more about this on this article on our website: https://yoast.com/want-green-bullet-wp-seo/
