looking for code of wp_list_pages

Hello
I sm trying to find the code for function wp_list_pages,
can anyone help me out in finding the funcion wp_list_pages,
I am working on a recipe menu and want to show the recipe category as wordpress menu,
I need to change the function of wp_list_pages or need ot write a similar function but with little change in the name of table from where it is fetching the category name.
