The Events Calendar allows you to override the WordPress settings by configuring the date and time settings directly in the plugin settings.
Navigate to Events → Settings, click on the “Display” tab, then scroll down to the “Date Format Settings” section to configure these settings.

Well, that works in the detail event page but not in the widget “Events list”.
There is where the date appears like this: 21 Jan, 2022.
