• Getting “critical error” whenever plugin activated.

    Need to go through FTP and rename plugin.

    I have tried everything, including reverting to the default theme, and deactivating ALL other plugins. Tried PHP 7.2 – 7.4. Same thing happens.

    Any ideas? Plugin worked perfectly on another site that has many plugins.I have no more ideas about what could be conflicting here.

    EDIT: Below is the error:

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_user_by() in /home/bilalcen/public_html/wp-includes/meta.php:1660 Stack trace: #0 /home/bilalcen/public_html/wp-includes/meta.php(176): get_object_subtype('user', 1) #1 /home/bilalcen/public_html/wp-includes/user.php(1049): update_metadata('user', 1, 'show_welcome_sc...', 1, '') #2 /home/bilalcen/public_html/wp-content/install.php(33): update_user_meta(1, 'show_welcome_sc...', 1) #3 /home/bilalcen/public_html/wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php(13): require('/home/bilalcen/...') #4 /home/bilalcen/public_html/wp-content/plugins/daily-prayer-time-for-mosques/Models/db.php(3): require_once('/home/bilalcen/...') #5 /home/bilalcen/public_html/wp-content/plugins/daily-prayer-time-for-mosques/Models/Init.php(3): require_once('/home/bilalcen/...') #6 /home/bilalcen/public_html/wp-content/plugins/daily-prayer-time-for-mosques/daily-prayer-time.php(10): require_once('/home/bilalcen/...') #7 /home/bilalcen/public_html/wp-settings.php(409): include_once('/home/bilalcen/...') #8 /h in /home/bilalcen/public_html/wp-includes/meta.php on line 1660

    If you do not activate my plugin, does your site work correctly?

    Yes, this is the current site: [ redundant link removed ]

    When activated, even with no other plugins and default theme, get a critical error screen.

    Thanks.

    Salam – just following up, any updates regarding this?

    Wordpress is on latest version, default theme, no other plugins, latest PHP (tried multiple versions), and still get critical error whenever activating plugin. I cannot think of anything else to try. Please advise, as we’d like to get this live thanks.
