I use Siteground as a host. When I upload a staging site where Shield is installed on I get the error “can’t clone database”. Removing Shield cures the problem. Several other security plugins I’ve tested don’t cause the issue. Is there a switch in Shield that I can deactivate to allow the copy to take place? I’m assuming there is a lock on certain fields of the database that I’m not aware of. I can create a staging copy and immediately try copying back to the live site with the same error.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

When you’re trying this staging action, can you check the Audit Trail within Shield to see if it’s registered some sort of block somewhere. I’m not sure how the Siteground clone process works so I can’t say how Shield would be interfering.

Perhaps it uses the REST API and you have that disabled (under Lockdown), or it’s triggering the Firewall in some way (this would show in the audit trail). Let us know what you find in the audit trail and we can point to options from there.
