Redirecting issue – change index.php name?

Hey guys,

I’m having a little problem here. Currently my web domain is being redirected to my /blog directory. Now in the near future I want a different index page to be shown when entering http://www.mydomain.com. The problem is, if I just change the redirection, all of the permalinks won’t work anymore – so all links posted to my blog by anyone won’t work anymore.

I have no clue how to deal with this. I thought about simply changing the name of the index.php of the blog to something like blog.php, but doing so results in css and image issues. Any ideas?
