What’s the default New User Role under WP dashboard > Settings > General? It’s normally set to “Customer”.
If your new users are assigned the “Subscriber” role there could be a plugin overriding the default function. It could be this plugin and you can confirm by temporarily disabling it.

i deactivated the sante membership plugin and the default role is still customer!
i meant the default role is still subscriber!
however i also checked i other eshops i have with different themes and the new user default roles is also subscriber
Have you switched the default role to customer? If you have and new accounts are still assigned to ‘subscriber’, it’s possible that there is a conflict happening. In that case, I would recommend doing a conflict test.
The best way to determine if the issue is being caused by a theme and/or plugin is to do the following:
1. Temporarily switch your theme back to the [Storefront](https://woocommerce.com/products/storefront/?aff=10486&cid=1131038) theme (it’s free)
2. Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
3. Test to see if the issue has been resolved.
4. If that resolves the issue, then slowly re-enable features until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.This is best done on a staging site. That’s a copy of your live site, so you can test things out without making changes to your actual site. Some hosting companies offer a staging site service within their hosting plans. If yours does not, there is a great free plugin that will allow you to build a complete staging site with a few button clicks: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging.
