Dark layer over whole website

    Hello,
    since yesterday my website is covered by a dark layer if I only click outside the Complianz cookie banner without properly accepting them. The banner disappears and does not come back despite updating the site, but the dark layer stays indefinitely.
    Clearing Cache and Browser data did not solve it.

    Hi @rugyourlife,

    The grey overlay is the “soft cookiewall” which can be toggled on/off under Complianz > Cookie Banner > “Show as soft cookiewall”.

    The reason why it happens at the moment, is because the “Free shipping worldwide!” pop-up appears on top of the Cookie Banner, so you can never make a selection in the banner to dismiss the soft cookiewall.

    You can fix this by lowering the z-index of the Free Shipping pop-up (or by raising the z-index of the Cookie Banner), so the Cookie Banner appears on top of it. Copy the below CSS to Appearance > Customize > Custom CSS:

    .woocommerce-store-notice, p.demo_store {
    z-index: 100;
}

    Thank you very much for responding so quickly, Jarno! However, my snippet indicates the following error message:

    The code snippet you are trying to save produced a fatal error on line 1:

    syntax error, unexpected ‘.’, expecting end of file

    Hi again, I solved it by bringing the Cookie banner to the top. Thank you very much for your help!
