No trackbacks or pingbacks

Hello.

I’ve found that I’m unable to send trackbacks or pingbacks to other blogs, despite double- and triple-checking that the trackback urls are correct, and checking that the functions are enabled in my settings. I can’t get trackbacks either (as tested by using one on a new post on my own site).

I’ve found some stuff suggesting I go in and edit wp-includes/cron.php and other kinda major fixes, but I’m hoping I won’t have to mess with that and that someone more experienced than me might have some insight as to what the problem is.
