    Hello,

The way billing details are displayed are differently per country. The american way of showing these details is city postal code. But I am from the Netherlands and so it has to be postal code city. Normally when you set the location of your store and the location of the customers both to the netherlands it should use the default settings for the Netherlands. But when i do an order and check the “woocommerce order” tab it still gives the american way of billing detail order (city postal code).

I pushed the edit button next to the billing details to open and check the metafields. In the country/region Netherlands is set to default. The state/county is blank. In the Netherlands we dont use this field in billing, we are a small country. Once i fill this field and save it then the Dutch setting gets changed to postal code – city. So it seems to rely on the state/county field to be filled. I tried to put a default value in it (NL) as its unworkable to change it every time. But it isnt working. Please can you help me explain this, cause it doesnt make any sense to me. Thank you.

    Hi @optimalprime,

When I’m testing the Netherlands as the billing country using only WooCommerce and the Storefront theme, these are the order details with the zip code before the city:

This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same behavior after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.

Reactivate the theme first and check again. Then, go on and reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/.

    Thanks!

Its not the theme and plugins, turning everything off and on storefront. Also your example isnt the same as yours is showing the country and mine isnt.

    Company
    first name last name
    Street Adress
    Amsterdam
    1011 AA

only when i click on the edit (pencil) button the meta fields open and there the country is filled in with the Netherlands and when i add something in the state/county field and safe then it changes it to the right setting. Also when i empty the field state/county field and safe it continues to show the correct dutch form. But only when first manually add something.

In the woocommerce i selected only one country Holland. Also with the taxes only NL. the send location option is turned off. I filled in the right store address.

The theme again on storefront and except for woocommerce no other plugins on. It still doesnt work. So it is some behavior of a set of settings what else could it be?

It is in hindsight a extension. Only it didnt show at first weirdly. I send the maker of that extension a message. So I will close it here. Thank you
