Webp images causing issues in safari

I am using webp images for a better site score and lower file size. However, I am having issues with safari where the images do not load correctly. My question is
1. is there an automated way to check which browsers might have issues with webp
2. Anyone using webp on their wordpress webiste and maybe some plugin that switches it to jpeg or safari or some other workaround? or any other webp issues you have noticed?
