    Hi,

new to WP and in dire need of some help. Used fantastico delux to install. When I go to the admin page and add a new post, then publish or update I cannot find the post.

any help or assistance would be greatfully appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ed

Can you see your posts on the backend? That is, if you go to edit posts, are they listed?

    Whoops…

Yes they are listed and next to them it has the time that they were published.

Are they published or saved as draft?

Also, what’s your URL 🙂 This might be a theme issue.

Oh. Okay. 🙂 You have to delete that front page, the index.html page, from your site in order to show up.

WordPress needs it’s index.php file to be the ONLY index page in the directory.

I know you installed WP in root, becuase this URL works: http://candes.eu.com/wp-login.php

    hi,

bear with me, some time since I looked at the website. so, should I go to public_html and delete index.html (14.6kb) and then upload the ammended website?

    Thanks

If you correctly installed WordPress, there should be an index.php file in the public_html folder.

If there is, rename index.html to index.html.old

    See if that works.

If NOT, you need to re-upload the index.php file, which you can get from a download of WordPress from this site 🙂

Thanks for your help. All seems to be moving in the right direction.

    Thank you very much.
