Hi @esaday
You can use the Send a test activity report email tool in the Other Tests section on the Tools >> Diagnostics page.
If the report HTML is not rendered then try several other email addresses for a different email service provider. If the HTML is rendered correctly for the other email address providers then you can ask your normal email service provider that you use why they are not rendering all HTML emails.

Thank you so much for the help, @wfphil! Unfortunately, I sent the test activity report to 4 different emails (my work, Gmail, Yahoo and hotmail). The result is the same – it is not rendering correctly.
Where do I go from here?

Hi @esaday
Thank you for the update.
In that case, it might be something that your hosting provider is doing. Have you asked them about it as we aren’t receiving any other reports of this?

The website is for a department at a university, so we are very removed from being able to contact the hosting provider.
As I mentioned, the earliest I have as far as email where this is happening is 9/27 and it’s all related to WordFence. The emails about theme or plug-in updates appear completely normal, but the Wordfence alerts and the activity reports are having the issue.
It may be that people have ignored the issue. That’s what I was doing for over a month, until a particularly convoluted-looking message spurred me to alert you to the problem. Hopefully, it will get fixed. I have a work around, so I can cope/see the message, but I’d prefer not to have to do the extra work. Thanks for your help!

Hi @esaday
Thank you for the update.
If Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 is missing from the headers in the source code of the email then you may have another plugin that is modifying the Content-Type or it is being removed or modified via a setting on the mail server that the university server admin can check for you.
