• Hi there,

    We just installed your plugin and are getting a “server 500 error” when we click the link to subscribe without commenting.

    And now it’s just refreshing and going to another page on the site.

    We’ve tried everything and it won’t work.

    Please help.

    Sorry to hear that.

    “500 internal server error” is a generic error and doesn’t point to something specific, so we’ll need a bit more info.

    You can find that info in the server error logs. Those are accessible through the control panel on your hosting provider’s website. The error log will show exactly what caused the error.

    If you’re not sure how to find the error logs, contact the hosting provider, they’ll help out with that.

    We could have sworn we responded to this LOL

    The 500 error didn’t produce anything in the logs, it only happened once.

    But you didn’t address it going to another page.

    We ended up going with another plugin because we needed something working right away.

    Hi,

    It sometimes happens to me as well 🙂 There’s a support request on another plugin of ours which I saw was unanswered today but I remember responding to it.

    And now it’s just refreshing and going to another page on the site.

    Can’t say for sure, the plugin does not redirect so it could be WordPress (not finding anything on the URL so it does a 301 redirect to a similar URL). Redirect Checker gives more info on that. If you decide to use the plugin let me know and we can check it out.

    Try the following:

    • Go to WP Admin > StCR > Management Page
    • Set “Virtual management page” to “No” and save changes
    • Go to WP admin > Pages > Add New and create a page called “Comment subscriptions”, the permalink should be comment-subscriptions
    • For the content of the page add [stcr_management_page]

      So I’m not very happy right now.

      We just wasted almost 2 hours of our life going through EVERY single plugin because your plugin worked on one site, but not the other, so we had to compare which plugins were on the problem site that weren’t on the other.

      Well we have a lot of plugins, so turning them off & refreshing took a very long time.

      We got to the bottom of the list & none of the plugins were the issue, BUT at the tail end my website coder figured it out for you.

      You FORGOT to put a slash at the end of your management URL. That’s what the issue was, not a plugin.

      But then we couldn’t figure out why it worked on the 2nd site.

      We figured out that you must have fixed it in your last update without putting it in your change log which is why the first site never got fixed b/c the update didn’t fix it, but a clean install does.

      Then he reset the options on the problem site & it worked. So this is why one of your other customers from a few months ago also had an issue. SMH
