• Whilst logged into the site I wanted to make a minor CSS change to the login/registration form that appears when a post or page is blocked.

I read here, that to display the form whilst logged into the site I need only check the box:

Customizer > WP Members > [x] “show forms as logged out”

The box was already checked by default, but the login form is not being displayed in the Customizer when I visit a post that should be blocked.

The page is blocked when not logged in.

Is there something else required here ?

That feature only works on the shortcode forms. For example [wpmem_form login] if you have set up a login page.

This feature has been in the plugin for a while and this question hasn’t come up before, so I assumed that it was intuitive. But in reviewing this based on your question, I think there is definitely room to improve this so that things are more clear – I’ll either update the setting text so that it indicates function only on shortcodes OR have it also function on blocked content posts/pages as well.

    Hello Chad

If I wanted to modify the CSS via the Customize view for the existing default Login/Registration form that renders on blocked content, how would I do that ?

Perhaps you are suggesting that is only possible if I have create a new page that employs the shortcode [wpmem_form login]

You can still apply custom CSS through the Customizer. That’s separate from being able to view the forms themselves.

    I’m not sure I follow.

I’m in the Customizer, I’m attempting to edit live CSS for the login which appears on blocked content, but can’t because the view is not blocked whilst logged in.

It’s oK I just edit blind and refresh a logged out tab in another browser to see changes, but I thought there was a provision for doing it via the WP Customizer live.

    Thanks

As I mentioned above, that’s currently only if you’re looking at the form generated by shortcode. But as also noted, there’s not a reason this feature can’t also include the forms on blocked content, so I will include that in the next update (3.4.0).

    OK look forward to that.

    Thanks
