Can FTP cause blogging issues within WordPress

    I am having several issues within WordPress such as:

    1. Add new post, select publish, goes to blank page.
    2. Try to update theme and it takes me to ftp page however the password box is missing which means I can’t update.
    3. Try to post a new post on the visual setting and the tools are not available it only shows me the HTML buttons and yes I have tried to click on visual and html to no avail.

    So my question is, is this a WordPress issue or FTP? Is there a way to remove the FTP so that I am doing everything between WordPress and the server?

    This can happen if your wp-content or themes folder doesn’t have 755 permissions and/or the themes files aren’t writable either (644). There may be more going on which you other issues. You could upload a whole new copy of wp-admin folder.
