delete all posts

All of them ?
Drop all the database tables. That really will erase ALL of your blog.
WP has very poor content management functions … *sigh*
I want every post gone….what do i drop
the wp_posts table.
good job, guys. you just helped a hacker delete someone’s entire blog 🙂
I doubt a hacker would need to ask.
For the hacker to be able to do this, he would need the mysql password as well as any other passwords before that. What a perfect time to plug the backup instructions!
@podz: MovablteType has some really nice power editing features. WP could use them as well. *hinthint* 😉
podz: ok, how about a disgruntled, computer-illiterate (ex)friend?
bloodylamer – a question was asked, an answer was supplied.
As much as this may or may not be related to you, it is not the job of people who answer to ascertain the identity and motivations of a question-asker. We just can’t.
The simple fact is this – if someone sets the passwords to their webspace and functions within it to be very simple and easy to guess, then you have made yourself a target. The weakest part of your website security is you – the person who chooses the passwords.
I did click your name when you made that first comemnt and your blog still exists.
Need a password ? Google “Any Password”. Use it to generate you pw’s. And change them.
Back to the subject, I think one is safer dropping all tables, rather than just wp_posts, since there’s all the comments to get rid of as well.
podz: sorry for wasting your time. I was only joking 🙂
Pericat is right. It’s safer and easier to trash the entire database and then create a new one, especially if you’re deleting all posts. You might as well start over from the beginning.
I’ve done this tip, delete the database tables to remove all my posts. But the categories still show their original post count in the admin manage tab. Any way to clear out the count too?
The only reason I didn’t just “start over” is that I didn’t want to inadvertently trash all the settings, plugins, themes, etc. Is there a better way?
You might want to clear *post2cat table as well
