    We have a weird issue.
We have a couple of forms on the site (in different languages).
We see submissions come in every now and then – so occasionally the forms work just fine.
When we test on Firefox, the form is submitted on all our tests.
When we test on Chrome, the form says it wasn’t send. – We altered the error message – it clearly states that the message was seen as spam.
We installed the flamingo plugin to see what was causing it to be marked as spam.
It shows – Spam log: reCAPTCHA response token is empty.
In the browser console we see:
The resource https://xxxx/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/modules/recaptcha/index.js?ver=5.4.2 was preloaded using link preload but not used within a few seconds from the window’s load event. Please make sure it has an appropriate as value and it is preloaded intentionally.

    What could cause this?

Where can we see the website in question?

The issue is ‘resolved’ – It was the cookiebot.com, marking the recaptcha cookie as a marketing cookie, and the plugin blocking marketing cookies until checked and accepted.
So it wouldn’t work if the visitor had not fully accepted all cookies.
Seems that it really is a marketing cookie, so as this site is hosted/targeted to EU visitors, we kind of have to leave it as is. We added a note to the error message, to try it with full cookies accepted else mail directly to …. so the issue is still there, but not something we can solve in a completely legal way I think – we could mark the cookie as a functional one, but I think you are then place unwanted cookies, which isnt allowed. .
