Hide sub category posts in parent category

Hi Guys

I have a parent category which has multiple sub categories.

When you click the parent category you get short excerpts from all the sub category posts with click throughs to read the full post.

I want to hide all the sub category excerpts posts on the parent category page. How can I do this?
