Bump, this is definitely a problem. That explains why so many people are still listing 2.9.1 as their version.
This forum doesn’t support questions about post thumbnails yet or have documentation on their use. By the time it supports 2.9 questions, wordpress will release 2.9.3, only then will 2.9.2 be listed (but of course not supported yet).

Regardless of how you feel, all versions of WordPress are supported and several issues involving post thumbnails have been resolved. All documentation here has been written by volunteers and is open to submissions from everyone. Though there is no completed documentation on post thumbnails at this time, this article may be of assistance:

Back to the matter at hand, this thread concerns the lack of 2.9.2 (the current version) as an available option in the Version pull-down menu when starting a new thread.
You can ask questions about any version. If you are concerned by the lack of a pull-down menu option, there is the free-text box available to enter your version number.
For what it’s worth, the mods here are aware of the issue and have put in a request to the site maintainers to update the version pull-down.
Fixed for now. Will look into automating the process to avoid this problem in the future.
