    Hi there

    Stupid newbie question I’m afraid. I’ve seen posts that almost answer the question, but just can’t get it to work.

    I’ve got wordpress installed on my website and if I go to http://www.the-smithy.org/wordpress all works OK.

    I want this page to appear when I go to http://www.the-smithy.org so (following the how to guide) I changed the blog URL to the above, copied the index.php file to the root and then changed all the require statements to point at the wordpress directory.

    I’m getting php errors

    [01-May-2010 13:11:39] PHP Warning: require_once(admin.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/wqgmdiwz/public_html/index.php on line 10
    [01-May-2010 13:11:39] PHP Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘admin.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/wqgmdiwz/public_html/index.php on line 10

    I know this will be something daft – anyone help?

    Thanks
    Ian

    I’m not really sure I can help but I had this same problem. What I finally did was switch my hosting to another company where I could easily install wordpress without the added directory path.
