Try looking for a theme rather than a plugin. They can provide a good starting point to customize around. A quick search found VideographEX, which may be a good starting point for you.
thanks for the suggestion, but again in that theme it is displaying posts in one row, i need something like 3-4 rows and 5-6 columns, also i prefer to know about a plugin if available for learning purpose, any help
here an example http://www.press75.com/demos/video-flick/demo.php
They’re out there. I don’t have the catalogue of all 1,193 themes memorized, but I know that they’re out there. Try a Google search. Just keep in mind that you’re looking for a theme, not a plugin.
The theme that you just linked to is called Video Flick. It’s a premium WordPress theme and can be purchased from the site that you linked to for $75.
thanks i know that but i am after that plugin which make posts look a like that , i am working on my own theme so trying to figure out how that work, thanks for the help though
There is no plugin for that. It’s all about how the theme is laid out using template tags and CSS. The template tags tell the theme where to display the posts, and CSS tells it how to. See this section in the documents for several guides:
<!– Begin Blog Post –>
<div <?php post_class(‘mc-wrapper’); ?> id=”post-<?php the_ID(); ?>”>
<div class=”mc”><?php $thumb = get_post_meta($post->ID, ‘thumb’, TRUE); ?>
<?php if($thumb == ” && $option[‘catch_first_image’] == ‘true’) {$thumb = catch_that_image();
if ($thumb != ”) { ?>
<div class=”mc-img”>
<img src=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_directory’); ?>/timthumb.php?src=<?php echo $thumb ?>&w=<?php echo $option[‘thumb_w’]; ?>&h=<?php echo $option[‘thumb_h’]; ?>&zc=1&q=<?php echo $option[‘timthumb_quality’]; ?>” alt=”<?php the_title(); ?>” />

this is the original code for displaying posts in one row, i need to know how i can make it work to display in multi rows and coulmns.
thx
If you’d like to hire me as a consultant, I can do that for you. Otherwise, just spend some time to either read the documents or find a similar theme to dissect. If you’re making a business out of this, purchasing Video Flick for $75 either to customize or dissect may be a great investment.
π thx for support, i am actually learning about wordpress, as i said before i am a web designer and now learning php from few months, so i was thinking maybe something is available by wordpress for this kind of stuff , means any sort of this code which make posts like that. and not in the mood/position to invest something which i only wants to learn.
Regards
Not a problem. If you hunt around and look, I’m sure that you’ll find something similar to what you’re looking for. I have seen quite a few themes that display posts with images almost like a thumbnail gallery on the main page. Though this is not entirely what you’re looking for, you can tear apart the code to find out how it’s displaying the posts.
I learned everything that I know about themes by finding ones similar to what I wanted, then I dissected them until I found out how they did it.
thx for your quick support, as i was looking in my data i used to have a theme for a client this one http://www.elegantthemes.com/preview/eGallery/ , it also used same method of displaying posts on home page, i check the code and it is here
