    Hello.

I recently updated my SiteOrigin Builder plugin to the latest and noticed that the “Parallax” that i have for mobile views is not working. I have a website where i have two versions of each row, on desktop it shows the desktop one and in mobile, the desktop one hides and the mobile one shows, i did it with some display classes because i do not have the premium plugin, is the free one.

After the update i notice that in the mobile version, the background shows completely, so the effect do not work, before the update the background would stretch so it could apply the effect, but now shows the full background image, so it do not cover the entire row and that leave the rows with half background.

I use SiteOrigin CSS to edit some things, but nothing related to rows or background.

I created a demo page of the problem where you can see the problem, you must visit it in mobile view to see the problem, it is inside this topic.

    SiteOrigin Page Builder 2.13.2
    SiteOrigin CSS 1.3.2
    WordPress 5.8
    PHP 7.3

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi, thanks for reaching out. Perhaps you’ve changed to the Modern Parallax option in Page Builder?

The Modern Parallax method uses HTML and will actively prevent stretching so there’s no reliable way for the image to be the entire length of the widget. The Legacy Parallax uses CSS so it can be the full height of the widget but due to how CSS handles background images parts of the image can be clipped/omitted (the Modern Parallax won’t do this) to prevent as much distortion as possible. You can switch Parallax Type by navigating to Settings > Page Builder and open the General tab. Set the Parallax Type to Legacy and then save.`

    Hello.

Great! changing it to “Legacy” solved the problem, thank you very much, but i do not remember touching that option ever before, so i am assuming the update changed it by default or something like that.

So does it means that the “Modern Parallax” is not meant to be used on mobile?, or it would be more like a try-different-image-sizes job?

Thanks for the help, really appreciate it.

Hi, thanks for the update. I’m glad to hear you’re making progress.

When the Modern Parallax library was introduced, only new Page Builder installations should have defaulted to the Modern option. Apologies for the hassle, I’m not sure at this stage why your setting changed.

Modern can be used on mobile but doesn’t stretch images so if the widget height on mobile is greater than the image height, the image, unfortunately, won’t cover the widget vertical area.

If any follow-up or new queries arise, please, let us know 🙂

    Hello.

Ok, i get it, actually the rows indeed had “min-height” applied, i did a few tests and i see how the “Modern Parallax” works now.

    Thank you very much!
