    Hello!

I have Wordfence and Google Site Kit installed in my site. Site Kit is all setup correctly and it has worked in the past. However, now it is not working anymore – it gives a bunch of errors a not valid json response.

After a quick test, I disabled Wordfence, and Site Kit got instantly fixed.

Is there a way to add Site Kit / Google connections to an exception so Wordfence doesn’t affect the system?

    Thanks
    Cheers

Hi @msdesignfoto, thanks for getting in touch.

I have seen a few mentions of Site Kit in our support channels before, but I believe the issue you’re seeing centers around Wordfence blocking the connections required by Site Kit. This could be added to an exception as you ask by running Wordfence in Learning Mode.

From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. Now perform actions that require Site Kit to connect or would usually break the site. This will help Wordfence learn that these actions are normal and it will allow them in the future. After you have finished performing the actions, switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting. Now test to see if these actions work correctly going forward.

Let me know how that goes for you.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hello!

I used that procedure and it worked. At first during learning mode, some Analytics panels had an error, but after a page reload with WAF in enabled mode, it loaded all the panels with no errors.

    It seems fixed.

    Thanks!
