Are emails from the rest of the site working? Ie, new registration, forgotten password, comment submission, etc.
Sounds like a mail server problem, then. Let me know how it goes, and if you’re still having issues with Job Manager after you sort that out.
I’ve found a plugin WP Mail SMTP that may well fix the issue but before I get too far into it, I noticed that the plugin only deals with one email account. Can you offer any suggestion as to what positive effect a plugin like this will have on the multiple email accounts likely used with Job Manager?
I hope this makes sense.
Cheers.
The WP Mail SMTP plugin says that it works with other plugins that use the wp_mail function for sending mail, which Job Manager does, so it should work fine.
I’m now getting emails sent to new users, notifying admin about new users, contact form submissions and comment moderation alerts but not from job manager.
I’ve tried a few different email addresses: the one used for admin (and tried changing that), as well as others from different servers but had no luck.
Any ideas?
Oh and I should say, that for what ever reason, the type of emails (above) I’ve started getting are without the WP Mail Plugin. Of course, this doesn’t have anything to do with the Job Manager Plugin, I just thought I’d mention it in case you may have speculated that it may be causing a problem.
This is a bit strange – Job Manager uses the same function to send mail as the WordPress emails.
Do you have access to your mail server log file? if so, could you see if there’s anything in there related to Job Manager? Also, if possible, could you check your Apache error_log as well?
This site is actually being moved to a different server when it’s ready to go live.
So, being that this is a strange one, I’ll see how things go on the new server and let you know the outcome, in case the ghost in the machine is to do with the current server.
Cheers.
Hi Gary.
I’ve moved the site to the new server and am still not receiving emails when an application is submitted.
I’m afraid I don’t now have access to check Apache error_log (not that I know how to do that anyway) and am unsure as to how I would check the mail server log file.
If you were inclined, you’re welcome to have a nosey in the WP admin for the site. I can send you an email with the logins.
It’d just be peachy to get this resolved as my client is…demanding.
Thanks!
Could I get you to add the following line to your wp-config.php file:
define('WP_DEBUG', true);
Then submit a job application and let me know if any messages appear after you click submit (apart from the usual).
No messages other than the “Thanks for the submission…”.
Hrrm. I’ll see if I’m able to debug it from wp-admin. Could you email me a login at gary@pento.net?
Hi,
Bump!
Having same problem as of JM 0.7.14 and WP 3.0.1.
Anyone find more info?
