Sorry for the late reply. There is no live search function currently in Link Library. That being said, it should definitely possible to use Ivory Search as Link Library stores all of its data in custom post types. The main question would be how flexible Ivory Search is to search in meta fields associated with custom post types. The post type in Link Library is link_library_links. The meta field for the description is called link_description while the meta field for the URL is called link_url.
