    Hello,

My question is would there be possible update issues when upgrading from version 3.4.8 to version 5.5.2.

Is it possible to do individual backups instead of a huge jump?

    Thanks

    Hi @derrickg72,

My question is would there be possible update issues when upgrading from version 3.4.8 to version 5.5.2.

We would not anticipate any problems updating to the most current version of WooCommerce, however, we do recommend making a good backup before performing any extensive task on your site, in the event of unexpected trouble.

I would also recommend doing a quick review of your installed plugins as well, since your version of WooCommerce is a little older, you may also have some older plugins that could be impacted by the change or require an update.

Is it possible to do individual backups instead of a huge jump?

To make sure I’m understanding, do you mean making backups as you progress through the update process? Or are you referring to the idea of updating to more current versions in stages? (i.e. 4.0, then 4.5, then 5.0, etc.)

If it is the latter as I suspect, you would only get the latest version when going to your dashboard and selecting to update the plugin.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions. 🙂

    Brad,

Thanks for getting back to me. What I meant was is it possible to upgrade in stages instead of updating all at once. Like you said 4.0 then 4.5 and so on.

THe only plugins I use that may affect WooCom is YITH WooCommerce Catalog Mode.

Brad, I went and did the update to the latest release on my test site and everything went as smooth as glass! So I am very excited to make those updates to my live site!

    Thanks

I’m very happy to see that the update went well for you and you’re going to deploy these changes to your live site.

I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as solved for now, if you find you encounter any issues or have any concerns please reach out and let us know!
