media upload form

I am running a classified website and the challenge lam having is my media upload form on the listing page takes too long to upload files. So lam worried this may discourage people from listing their new products since it will take them ages to upload images of their products?
So please can someone give me some tips on how l can improve this to ensure the success of my new venture.
