• Hi all,

    Today all my websites are attacked by a suspected malware th3_alpha.php , resulting in some of them not working, unable to browse on Internet. This suspected malware works in the same way as lock360.php which has attacked my websites before, about one week ago, creating malicious .htaccess everywhere with similar content;

    Deny from all

Finally I have to run following command lines on the cPanel Terminal of my hosting company to find it and delete it

    # find ./ -type f -name "th3_alpha.php"

    # find ./ -type f -name "th3_alpha.php" >> /tmp/th3_alpha.txt

    # find ./ -type f -name "th3_alpha.php" -delete

This suspected malware works the same way as lock360.php creating malicious .htaccess on most of the folders under /public_html/ including installed plugins.

I have wordfence and WP Cerber plugins installed, running on all my websites. But they couldn’t filter it. It is very strange to me. How can it get into my /public_html/ ?

Can any folk shed me some light? Thanks

    Regards

Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.

    Hi Steven,

    Thanks for your link.

I have cleaned them running Linux command lines. All my websites are now running without problem. But I’m eager to know how these 2 suspected malware getting into my cPanel.

I’m subscribing shared hosting. I don’t know whether I’m allowed adding Linux packages on my server.

    Lynis
    Chkrootkit
    Rkhunter
    ClamAV
    LMD – Linux Malware Detect

are good linux packages for security. I found ClamAV have been installed on my server but I couldn’t execute its command “clamscan” on Terminal. I’m allow to execute “flashscan” updating virus definition. I’ll talk to my hosting company.

Lock360.php has been confirmed a malware, pls following Spanish site:
    Lock360.php | Tu web a sido HACKEADA.
Lock360.php | Your website has been HACKED.
