• I tried to change a small thing in the functions.php file of the theme I used, but this made the entire website crash. I am unable to access both the website and the admin panel. I know exactly where the problem is, but I have no way to fix it. I have attempted to use FTP, but trying to connect this way always times out.

So it seems I am unable to configure the website in any way. Am I missing something? Is there any way to fix this without resetting the website completely?

    Thanks in advance

If you think your theme is the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
