Hi @natashasmith,
Out of the box, WooCommerce allows you to define stock for variable products at the product level or at variation level. If you define both, the variation level stock is used and will be deducted when you sell a particular variation.
However, there is a Variation Shared Inventory for WooCommerce plugin that allows for a more shared type of inventory control among variations. Kindly check the documentation to see if it might suit your needs and in case you need more info, feel free to create a presales ticket with us.
Thanks.
Hi @abwaita Thank you so just to confirm this will deduct my total stock value while my variable stock value will also still deduct? Second question is this compatible with the wholesale suit extention?
Thanks for getting back @natashasmith.
Since the Wholesale Suite is a third-party plugin, we’re not able to offer guarantees regarding compatibility. However, you could install both and see whether they work well together.
* We offer a 30-day refund window. Therefore, you can return an extension that does not meet your needs within 30 days of purchase for a full refund as explained in our refund policy.
Hope this helps.
@abwaita. So bought the plugin but can’t install it. Pops up with an error. Tried to acces the woocomm support team via woocomm dashboard and it tells me I need to verify my email which I have done and still can’t access the support for it.
Hi @natashasmith,
Quite unfortunate to hear about the issues you’re running into while trying to create a ticket.
Kindly create the ticket through the Contact Us page instead *using an incognito/private browser window*:
Go to https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/
select: I need help with my account or with a product I purchased on WooCommerce.com.
Then: Need something else? Contact us!
Let us know if you face any challenges.
Thanks.
Hi @abwaita.
I managed to reach support. This plugin is not going to do what I need it to do. Thanks anyway
Thanks for getting back @natashasmith.
Quite unfortunate that the extension will not be helpful in this case. However, still looking at the issue here, I think you can still make do without a plugin:
if I receive 50 jackets i load the item, then under the inventory tab i load the total of 50, then under variations i load say 5 green size small, 5 red medium etc. When I sell 3 green size small the units only deduct from the 5 units that I loaded under the variations tab, but I also want it to deduct from the total unit of 50 under the Inventory tab.
You could split the available stock (50 items) between the variations, that is, 25 Green Small + 25 Red Medium. In such a case, each sale will lead to the appropriate stock deductions from the respective variations. Thus, you should still be able to compute the available inventory based on the remaining stock levels of each variation.
Thanks.
Hi @natashasmith
We’ve not heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.
Thanks guys, I ended up using the export and import method by only exporting a few columns which is working great
