Allow users to add and edit list items

    I am hosting a list of businesses that do and don’t enforce certain policies, but I am tired of manually updating the list. Is it possible to allow users to add/remove businesses themselves, so that I don’t have to contiue doing it?

    If possible, I would prefer users not to have to register.

    If you really allow anyone who wants to to add and delete front end content your site unmoderated you’ll quickly end up with a spam/porn farm. I don’t think you want that.

    I would recommend googling for “formidable forms directory plugin” and use the top suggestion. It’ll do exactly what you want, which I think is for a business to be able to list themselves, edit their own listing, and take it down when they want.

    For your next trick, you can convince all those business owners to actually do that, and there’s no plugin in the world that can do that for you. 🙂

    The goal is for users to be able to list the businesses, not necessarily for the businesses to edit themselves. It is basically a community forum of goods and evils for patronization and employment

    I think what you’re really describing is a wiki. You can get plugins to make WordPress wiki-like, but you might also want to look at actual wiki software.
