All pages suddenly require login

    Weird, and sadly I’m a novice website creator. I hope this query is a fresh issue, I can’t think how to search for the issue.

    Out of the blue, one of our members tells me that every page of the above website now requests a login & password. The site isn’t intended to have anybody logging in except me as an admin, and has never had this problem before.

    I also see that I now have to set up 2 step authentication, and I wonder if there was some change in WordPress or some plugin that has decided to secure every page automatically?

    I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas. The site is set to update things automatically, I have Wordfence pro installed, so I doubt there has been an attack of any kind.

    If all plugins are set to auto-update then it’s possible an update changed some settings in a membership or security plugin. You will need to check the settings of all such plugins to make sure they are what you want.

    Thanks for your comment. I did check two relevant plugins, but I’ll look for some more. If this is the cause, then other people might have the same problem, so I’ll check with the plugin people.
