Add new button for attribute is disabled

Continue from what Marius have wrote here (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/add-new-attributes-button-sometimes-disabled/) the button is still disabled in product page.
You can not add new attribute from product page, you have to go to attributed menu to add from there which is not user friendly at all.

Is there any update?
It is been almost 10 months since Marius pointed this out!!!
