    Hi,

I´m using Google Map API via GeoDirectory -plugin.
Now I just finished Complianz Wizard and on “Cookie scan” -page I see message that
Third-party services “Google Maps” “Google reCAPTCHA” has been recognized correctly. Then on Integrations -page I have these checked under “Select the types of third-party…”.
I also have ”Yes, with Google Analytics” and ”Let Complianz anonymize IP addresses” checked.

On ”Cookie descriptions” I select ”Cookies in Swedish” and click ”Sync”.

Now under Complianz generated Cookie Policy, Placed cookies:
    1. Cookie info is only in English, any idea why it was not translated to Swedish?
    2. Under Google Maps there are no cookie names specified but instead link to google-maps-api is this enough for GDPR?
    3. There is no info regarding Google analytics cookies?
    4. Is Google maps regarded as ”functional”? I was visiting this page:
    https://complianz.io/google-maps-and-gdpr-what-you-should-know/
With only functional checked, both maps visible?

Apologies for all questions, congrats on a very pedagogical wizard there!

    Thanks!

    Hi @aggk,

    1. You would need to create a Swedish version of the Cookie Policy document using a multilanguage plugin such as PolyLang or WPML. That will include the Cookie List in Swedish. I have included the articles that describe how to do this as hyperlinks.

    2. Google Maps uses this API call to get the information it needs (https://cookiedatabase.org/cookie/google-maps/google-maps-api/). If no other Cookies are placed, this would indeed suffice.

    3. Complianz will continually re-scan for placed Cookies and add them if necessary. If Google Analytics cookies are being placed on your domain, Complianz will detect this eventually. I would need to see your website to see if this is the case.

    4. The WP Google Maps implementation on this page did seem to get blocked on “only functional”. The iFrame below it should now be fixed as well.

    Hope this helps!
    Kind regards,
    Jarno

“Complianz will continually re-scan for placed Cookies and add them if necessary.”
-How does that work, is it like bots?…from my domain?

“Google Maps uses this API call to get the information it needs”
I have noticed that google maps actually sometimes use cookies too, would these likely be picked up from Complianz bots at a later scan?

    4. -strange, I still see both maps there with only “functional checked

    Thanks!

    – No bots are used, the scan runs in an iFrame within your own browser. Please refer to our article here for more details: https://complianz.io/cookie-scan-results/

    – Yes. Some cookies are only set on certain interactions (example: WooCommerce cart cookies, when you place an item in the Shopping cart), and these will get detected and added to the Cookie Policy over time.

    – You were correct about the iFrame Map on that page. This has been addressed, if you test in an Incognito browsing window it should work as expected.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
