I have been trying to figure how to disable the native comment section on my site and having disqus comments only, currently i have the Native and Disqus comments.

Also when i have the disqus comment plugin active on the dashboard, i dont see the native comment option unless if disqus is deactivated .

So the question here is how to turn off native comments and keep disqus comments.

  • WordPress allows you to turn comments off/on. But I’m thinking if you use this native WordPress comment control feature, comments will be turned off completely, and that’s not what you want.

The Disqus comments is a feature of your commercial Bimber theme, enabled by the bundled CommentAce plugin. We can’t provide direct support for commercial products here, as we don’t have access to these products.

After a quick 30-second Googling, I found this theme’s documentation page which suggests that you should be able to turn on/off any of the 3 commenting options: WordPress, Facebook and Disqus. Here are the instructions to enable/disable the WordPress comments: https://bimber.bringthepixel.com/docs/wordpress-comments/

Please note that I cannot say if the above instructions will work for you or not, since, as I said, we don’t have access to commercial products here so I’m unable to test it out. If you need further help, please consult your theme’s developer or the marketplace where you purchased the theme from for assistance.

    Good luck!

Thanks George, it didnt work but i am going to play around with CommentAce, that plugin was not active so i have activated it and trying to figure what needs to be tweaked.

You have helped me a great deal with your simple response and much appreciated, this issue should be fixed soon and i’ll leave a message once i figure out whats going and update you.

Like i promised i’ll update you once the issue was rectified George, i’m here now to let you know how the issue got solved.

The issue had to dealt with by the theme developers, it was an internal issue and they couldn’t find fault with anything at all, so in the end they had to tailor make a solution for me.
