Positioning Header Image and Text widget side-by-side

Newbie – I am using Atahualpa 3.4.5.1, and have a header image and a text widget in my header. I want the text to be positioned as it looks on http://www.gardenlady.com – to the right of the image, centered vertically. What I am getting is the text under the image instead – see http://gardenlady.com.s52126.gridserver.com/wp/
I can see from the source code that the theme puts the image within a div, and the text widget puts the text within another div. I’m not that familiar with divs and spans, so I’m not sure how to force it to put them side-by-side.
Or, should I just not use the built-in image or text widget and code the image and text directly into the Style and Configure Header area?
Any help would be appreciated!
