    Is there a way to show posts horizontally insted of vertically.

    Also, if you have enough space for 3 items across, can you get it to then move down to the next line and start again?

    lots of free magazine style themes are doing it.

    download some of them and see how they do it.

    usually, the posts are wrapped in a div with fixed width and floated left, sometimes with an extra clear:left for post 1, 4, 7, etc.
