• Hi,
Is it possible to async/defer the CSS of the plugin? I’m getting ‘Avoid chaining critical requests’ in PageSpeed Insights and the social-pug/assets/dist/style-frontend-pro.1.18.2.css?ver=1.18.2 is on the list. I only use floating buttons and below content buttons on desktop and below content buttons on mobile, so I don’t see any good reason for the Grow Social plugin to load any CSS files first thing when the page loads as the social buttons are not even present on the screen when the page loads in the browser.
    Thanks!

PS: social-pug/assets/dist/style-frontend-pro.1.18.2.css is also loading on pages where there are no social buttons present. I only have it activated for posts, but the CSS file also loads on pages, which doesn’t make much sense…

@mediavine Btw, I’m not using the pro version, so I’m not even sure if style-frontend-pro should be loading… Or is the file called pro for the free version as well?

    Hey @lauratraveler,

Thanks so much for reaching out to us about this and so sorry for the delay! In terms of using async/defer for the CSS from Grow Social we don’t have a way within the plugin to apply that within the plugin itself. While we don’t have any recommendations, there are a few plugins out there that should be able to assist with helping you do something like that if you’d wish!

With regards to the CSS files loading on pages that have no social buttons present, would you be able to send over a URL of a page that you’re experiencing this on?

As far as the version numbers go, that’s totally normal and based on the filename of the CSS file you sent over, it does indeed look like you’re running the non-Pro version of the plugin so you should be fine there.
