I created a recurring event, and for one date (7 June) I needed to change the maximum number of guests so I edited the individual event. Later I needed to change one of the RSVP settings (allow RSVP until 0 hrs before event ends) for the recurring event because I wanted this to be applied to all events, but then it has created duplicate events on 7 June. Can you please check this?

There’s nothing to check. It is clearly stated when editing an event that is part of a recurrent series: “WARNING: This event is part of a recurrence. If you change this event, it will become an independent event and be removed from the recurrence.” So upon editing, that event became a standalone event, and when editing the recurrence definitionn, the day that was “missing” was re-added.

Yes I saw the warning and it makes sense that the event becomes an independent event. But when further editing the recurrence, I wouldn’t think that anyone would want another event created alongside the independent event, so I thought this was a bug.

No problem, I’ll delete the duplicate.

Fyi it seems that the recreated duplicate event doesn’t copy custom fields from the recurring event.
