How to install other program to root folder?

    Hi to all!
    I have a little problem with my site root folder. I have installed WordPress to root folder and now I need to install another php-program to same server.

    Example:
    my WP folder is: http://domainname.com/
    and my other software is installed to http://domainname.com/othersoftware

    The problem is that always when I go to use another php-program it’s redirect me to “nothing found” blog page.

    I guess I need to edit .htaccess? or something like that. I really appertice if someone can tell me what to do.
