    Hello,
I face two difficulties regarding the sitemap generated by Yoast for my website. Specifically:
    1) One of my Sitemaps contains 0 URLs, and I get the message “Missing XML tag. This required tag is missing. Please add it and resubmit”. I read the instructions provided here https://yoast.com/help/sitemap-error-missing-xml-tag/, and it says, “To solve this, you should create content for the sitemap”. Can you please tell me how do I create content for the specific URL? I already cleared the cache using WP Fastest Cache.
    2) A second Sitemap links to a wrong footer. In particular, https://sunnyathens.com/elementor-hf-sitemap.xml links to the template footer that Ι used to create my current footer. How could I fix that?
You can find my XML sitemap here: https://sunnyathens.com/sitemap_index.xml
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

    Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. We have addressed your concerns below:

    1. We can confirm that your sitemap has items. As such, you shouldn’t be receiving the error. We understand that you have cleared the cache using WP Fastest Cache. Can you deactivate that caching plugin temporarily to resubmit the sitemap?

    2. You can disable showing that site-footer in the sitemap by navigating to WordPress > SEO > Search Appearance > Taxonomies. For the option to show in search results, choose ‘No’.

    Hello,
Thank you for your fast response.
    1) I deactivated WP Fastest Cache. However, if I visit https://sunnyathens.com/e-landing-page-sitemap.xml, it still says, “This XML Sitemap contains 0 URLs.” Is there something extra that I should do?
    2) As you can see at https://ibb.co/jbwc2G6, the Taxonomies are already set to “No”. Moreover, I want my Categories to be shown to the search results, however, the right ones.
Many thanks for considering my request.

    1. Indeed, https://sunnyathens.com/e-landing-page-sitemap.xml has no URLs. You need to add content to that sitemap. Since we are not familiar with your site, we are not sure what taxonomy or content type this is. It could be a custom post type generated by a plugin.

    2. When we say, ‘You can disable showing that site-footer in the sitemap by navigating to WordPress > SEO > Search Appearance > Taxonomies. For the option to show in search results, choose ‘No’.’, we are not referring to post categories. Please toggle the button as referenced in your screenshot to turn on categories to be shown in search results.

Again, we are not familiar with your site, so it’s difficult to pinpoint what taxonomy generates the https://sunnyathens.com/elementor-hf-sitemap.xml sitemap. It is definitely related to Elementor.

Please share a full, uncropped screenshot of the taxonomy page, showing all taxonomies you have in there.

    Thanks for the helpful screenshots!

Regarding the empty sitemap, https://sunnyathens.com/e-landing-page-sitemap.xml, we do not know what plugin generates that. It is a custom post type that may be generated with a landing page plugin. You can toggle the button to turn off the option to show it in search results. In the alternative, please reach out to your web developer on how to add content to this custom post type.

For https://sunnyathens.com/elementor-hf-sitemap.xml, it comes from the Elementor template (Header & Footer Blocks template). You can also toggle the button to turn it off.

Thank you very much for your valuable assistance!
I turned both off as you recommended.
Should I generate now a new sitemap and submit it to Google Search Console, or is it something that the system will do automatically?
Once again, thank you! Top-level support!

    Thanks for the feedback.

You can resubmit the sitemap to the Google Search Console. The previous error shouldn’t show up anymore
