AMP pages have improved a lot in speed, but remain slower than desktop. See Pagespeed and GTMetrix graphics on the page I linked.

Why are the amp pages slower than Desktop?

It would seem that in this situation using regular mobile pages deriving from desktop would actually be faster… but the problem is that Google won’t accept a fast page, unless it’s AMP… or am I missing something?

I just know that my mobile pages were very fast, but google refused to show them in search because they weren’t amp, and when I used the AMP for WP by the Indian guys, it wasn’t an amp that google liked 🙁

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @considerthis1

Can you please share your site health information using this form so we can replicate your setup at our end, which will help us provide you useful suggestions or create step by step guide for you.

You will find instructions to get site health information on the form itself

I filled in your form, except I didn’t understand how to find the debug log.

And, I haven’t totally loaded the SSL thing because it implies it could wreck your site, and I already have a secure site.

    Hello @considerthis1

Thanks for the site information, the first thing I noticed you have multiple plugins doing that are doing the same thing, to achieve good site performance I will recommend getting rid of those redundant plugins.

Deactivate Schema – All In One Schema Rich Snippets
Why deactivate? The Yost SEO plugin also generates schema data and As I checked your site is serving schema by Yoast SEO plugin.

    Google XML Sitemaps
Why deactivate? The Yoast Plugin also creates an XML sitemap, you can activate that feature by visiting Yoast -> General -> Features -> Switch on XML Sitemap https://prnt.sc/12xgch1

    NK Google Analytics
Why deactivate? You are already using the Google Site Kit plugin which adds Google Analytics code to your site.

For now, perform the above actions next I will post a detailed guide for theme tweaks.

    Thanks, I appreciate it.

When I was relying on Yoast … no sitemap was recorded at Google Analytics. 🙁

    So, I switched.

Re rich snippets. Google was pissed that I wasn’t identified as the author. I tried a lot of things, the rich snippets seemed to solve the problem.

I’m not entirely keen on Site Kit. The auto ads are not attractive and almost no one clicks on them. The Auto Ads seem to be directed at sick people. Most people who used to come to my site were interested in staying well.

The slowest things on my sites have always been the Adsense Google ads. I don’t understand how Google can say it’s interested in speed, then not improve its ads.

Did you mean google search console? Google analytics do not record Sitemaps

you can submit your sitemap generate by YOAST SEO using this URL

Did you tried contacting Yost support for the same, it seems you have the premium version of Yost.

It will be best to contact google ads support, as we can only help you regarding AMP Plugin related issues.

Wherever it was that I checked on my sitemaps for my sites…

Are you the person who took offense at me still being able to get AMP coverage from having been in the google AMP study group years ago… I need to find that thread.

I paid for Yoast pro, or whatever it’s called, and the sitemaps were NOT reaching google.

I haven’t bought the premium Yoast since the failures. Though it did provide a neat image manipulation thing.

    Sigh

I joined the AMP support team recently, I was not part of the google study group.

As I checked your site, You are not using the official AMP plugin anymore, so I will mark this topic as resolved. It will best approach to consult the other plugin team (AMP for WP Support team) for further help.

I am using the official amp plugin, so why do you think I’m not???? I’ll go check, but I’m sure it’s still activated…

I still can’t work out how to do a screen shot that will show in the forum. But, this is a text copy:

    AMP
    Settings | Deactivate
Enable AMP on your WordPress site, the WordPress way.

Version 2.0.11 | By AMP Project Contributors | View details | Contact support | Leave review
    Enable auto-updates
There is a new version of AMP available. View version 2.1.2 details or update now.

I haven’t updated because I wasn’t sure it was stable yet. Most of the people on this forum seem very tech oriented and able to deal with problems. I’m not that capable.

It’s sort of irritating when you decide something is answered to your satisfaction (because you wrote it) rather than to the satisfaction of the person who asked the question and needed help.

    (@considerthis1)

If it says “deactivate” then it means it is activated. So why do you think I’m not using the Official Google Amp plugin, when it appears via the plugin dashboard that I am?
