    Hi there,

I am relatively new to WordPress and WooCommerce. I have searched for ages trying to find the answer to my question but have been unable to find anything. Would appreciate any help!

I have set up my shop how I want but am having trouble changing some URLs. Basically I want to shop structure to be yourdomain.com/shop/catergory/item.

I have that all sorted except the category page shows yourdomain.com/woocommerceshop/catergory. How do I change it to be yourdomain.com/shop/catergory?

    Many thanks!
    Josh

    Hi Josh 👋

To change the permalinks from yourdomain.com/woocommerceshop/catergory to yourdomain.com/woocommerceshop/catergory, all you need to do is to go to WP Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks > Product Permalinks > Custom Base, and from there, type the word shop inside that text field and click on Save changes in order to change it 🙂

    I hope that helps!

    Hi Gabriel,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I have done that already and even added “/shop/%product_cat%/” so that each product has the URL “yourdomain.com/shop/category/product” for example “yourdomain.com/shop/clothing/hoodie”. But for some reason, the categories URL shows “woocommerceshop” instead of “shop” in the URL. Any other suggestions?

    Cheers,
    Josh

    Hi Josh 👋

Could you please provide us with a full-screen uncropped screenshot of your permalinks settings to provide you with guidance?

I recommend https://snipboard.io for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL here. It works with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

    Thanks!

And yet my URL is still coming up as this:

    Hi @pngmangi 👋

    Apologize for the delay!

It sounds like the /woocommerceshop/ is specified on the URL (permalinks) of pages that you have created manually.

I’d recommend going into those pages for example; your shop page, clothing, and accessories, and check the permalinks for each one of them to see if the /woocommercershop/ is coming from there. If it does, please edit the permalink accordingly.

Let me know how it goes! 🙂

It’s all good! I appreciate you looking into this for me!

I did look there. I can only seem to change the bit after “woocommerce”…

Hey, sorry, it’s not actually resolved? I was just saying thanks for continuing to look into this for me. The screenshots show that instead of “shop” it still says “woocommerceshop” and I don’t have the option of changing it?

    Hi @pngmangi! 👋

    Apologies, I misread the thread.

Can you check if those pages has a Parent Page assigned under the Page Attributes section? If so, please remove the parent page and check if that fixes it.

    Cheers.

All sorted now! Turns out my shop category pages were parented under the original shop made be default with the slug “woocommerceshop”. I have changed to my actual shop page and it’s all permalinked how I want it to. Thanks so much for helping me sort it out! Learnt a lot through that. 🙂
