• So I am loving WPBook so far. It is truly a great plugin! However, can I make it so that when I publish a post to my website, that it is also published on my wall?

I am ultimately hoping that I can post stuff on my site, have that post show up on facebook, where people can read or comment on the post, and the comments will be aggregated back to my site.

Maybe I am missing the point of WPBook?

  • WPBook can publish to your facebook wall. That’s what the “enable publishing to Facebook stream” is all about.

Users can then comment on your blog posts using the Facebook app, and those comments will be aggregated back to your site.

Did you read the directions included with the plugin? Have you granted the Facebook application permission to publish to your stream?

also, I have noticed that on my facebook, that when people comment, it is not aggregated back to my wordpress. Any ideas on the issue? http://www.seanbeeson.com (the post is Rainy in Ohio)

    Thanks!!

    Greetings John,

Thank you for your reply. Yes after re-reading the instructions about ten times I realized the error was my fault!! 😛

The streams are being published now, however, I have noticed that comments are not being pushed back. Could that be because I am using a third party commenting system and not the one default to wordpress? I don’t think that should matter?

Well I apologize, let me clarify. If people actually click on the link of the post in my stream, it will take them to the application page, where IF they comment, it will be shared back to wordpress, but if someone comments just on my stream, it does not show up.

    Yes, that’s accurate.

If people comment on the excerpt as posted to your stream, those comments are not (yet) pulled back into WordPress.

There is an API Facebook supports for retrieving those comments as well, and I’m looking in to incorporating it, but right now only the comments made on the full blog post in the FB app will get cross-posted to WordPress.

Unfortunately, I don’t know of any way to turn off the “comments” section Facebook adds to any wall post.

    Thanks John,

Do you know when you may further develop this plugin to do that? I would be greatly interested in it!!

    Thank you again,
    Sean
