Go to the demo page https://fullworks.net/products/widget-for-eventbrite/eventbrite-shortcode-demo/
Select Own API Private Token and enter your key – if it still says no events found then it is likely you have no events to display for that API key ( despite what you think ! )
Come back here and let me know the results.
Thank you for the quick response!
I followed the instructions and it came up with the two events that I expected to see. I’m not sure whether this may be related to the issue, it also gave the following message:
“More than one Organization on this API Key, you may want to filter to a single organization using the organization_id= parameter”
Once I have proof of concept that is exactly what I want to do, so I can have different recurring events showing in different parts of the site, but for now I just want to get them both displaying so I can see the plug-in in action.
OK so if it has ‘No Events Found’ on your system and yet on the demo the API key is pulling back events the issue is local to your install.
1. plugin cache – this clears in 24 hours (assuming cron is working – check tools -> heath check ) – also deactivate / re activate will clear the transient cache
2. Some other cache – like Wp Rocket – or your server host / cache – clear that cache
3. A database server issue – check tools > health check – the plugin does report some known configuration issues – also see setting debug log and look for errors
4. A clash with another plugin not yet identified, go through plugin elimination – the plugin Troubleshooting & Healthcheck can help
Use full if you can go to Tools>Healthcheck – info tab and copy / paste the contents here
While the above is true for debugging, I just recalled – the free version doesn’t give you the ability to choose organisation, so will pick the first organisation, and if that has no events you will see none.
If you want to proof of concept you have three choices
1. add events to the other organisation
2. create a new account that only has access to one organisation and generate an API key for that
3. Use the free 14 day trial of the pro version and specify the organisation id
Thanks again for your help Alan, I think I’m getting somewhere. Having checked all the things you suggested I have started a 14 day trial of the full version and that is largely woking as expected. Bizarrely, the sidebar widget still returns no events, even when I ensured there was an event for each of my organisations, but I can use the widget view shortcode option and that does the job fine.
Your assistance has been extremely helpful, thank you. A note in the documentation for the free version that if there are multiple organisations all but one will be ignored would have saved me a number of hours of hair tearing!
Thanks again.
Thanks Paul. I will do something with the free version documentation or even a warning in the notifications to aid other free users.
As far as the Pro version goes it is not something I’m allowed to support via the free forums ( wordpress.org rules ) but if you have any issues you will have the pro support email / channel available to you now.
