doesn’t really make any difference.
there is some test/benchmark shows Redis is slightly faster on extreme heavy load , but for most sites, the difference is negligible

Apparently wordpress.org is using Memcached actually that surprised me:

I think Redis is too complicated, but it is becoming popular than Memcached and better supported so seems like more standard these days.
